Summer 2013

Summer has been rolling along with the usual fun stuff...
kayaking, company, dinner on the deck,
soaking up all the green plus colorful flowers,
and a two week visit with our smart, beautiful, and
talented daughter before she headed off to her summer job.

This summer has also been filled with a bunch of un-fun-ness
as we are getting ready to sell our home.
This un-fun-ness comes in the form of painting, staining,
and more painting and staining,
plus work on more half-finished remodel projects than I care to admit.

But, we are starting to see the light at the end of this un-fun-ness tunnel.
Anyone interested in a gorgeous lake home in n. WI?
I've got a gem for you.

Hope your summer is rolling along in fine form!
Happy July 4th!

Comments are off while I grab a brush to do more painting.

Gentle Evening

The storm cleared in the evening ~
rising mist, amazing light, and insane mosquitoes.

The lighting, the scene,
it reminded me of paintings by the Hudson River School.

Long ago, I determined that not all light is created equal.

Wishing you boat loads of amazing light,
and no mosquitoes!

Unfolding

The ferns in our woods are now tall and luxurious,
but I do love their early unfolding forms.
Here are a few images made at the beginning of spring.

I hope your creative ventures are unfolding in wonderful and magical ways!

Surprising Spring

Our spring arrived very late this year.
Thus, we are just now enjoying flowering fruit trees and trillium filled woods.

Recently, I was thinking about how spring always surprises me,
since it comes in like a pointillist landscape
with its unique greens and lacy leaf tracery
and in no time...
poof,
it morphs into the look of summer,
all bold greenness and solid canopies.
How can it change so fast?

Anyway, here's an early spring image
made before our world turned incredibly green.
A quiet backwater of swollen creek and soft warm light.

Hope you're enjoying beautiful weather,
spring or not!

Life is crazy busy here,
so comments are off.

April Winter

How's your spring looking -
colorful, flowery, green?

Ours is looking mighty wintery.
These images were made on April 19!

It's beautiful, but......
snowstorms in April???!!!

Wishing you a perfect, creative spring,
in whatever manner that comes to mind.

Auto Love

We are snared in the grips of the never-ending-winter.
More snow fell again this week!
This predicament leaves me craving color, and warmth.

So, I've dug into the dusty vaults of my computer to finally edit images
from our area's annual summer classic car show.

Without further ado, please enjoy with me...
gorgeous color,
fascinating form,
intriguing reflections,
and
glittering chrome.

More classic cars to come in an auto love sequel.
