Autumn Plunder

We're in the depths of a north woods winter already...
but, please humor me today as I turn back the clock of time a few weeks
and picture flickering sunlight filtering down through treetop canopies
onto a patchwork bed of leaf litter.

It was among this leaf litter that I found these macro wonders.

My favorite is the first image.
This gem was painted with touches of slug slime, or some such,
which shimmered with silvery opalescence.

I hope you're enjoying the season,
whatever the weather!

  1. All gorgeous with the dips and curves and lines. The first one is lovely, but the last one does it for me and made me gasp as I scrolled down - the in-between ones create the movement and atmosphere - beautiful!

  2. Thanks, Sandra! These leaf "portraits" were fun and challenging to do. Each leaf was so different, when studied closely.

  3. Gorgeous pictures! makes me want to get out my paints and try to capture this! I love macros of water droplets - that last one has me mesmerized

  4. Thanks, Cynthia! I didn't realize you painted as well as're a woman of many talents!

  5. Wonderful-ness, dear Anna! My fav is #5, but all are fab! Happy Advent time. :)

  6. Thanks for your comment! (yougetthepic)

  7. Thanks so much for your kind comment, Kia!!! Fun to hear which image you liked best. I hope that you're enjoying the season, too :)

  8. Gosh, these are awesome, Anna! I just found them.

  9. Thanks, Candice! I really enjoyed studying all the different leaf forms that I ran across this fall.
