Late afternoon light,
shoreline tree shadows dancing out across the lake,
cold temps,
nasty windchill,
nasty windchill,
frozen footprints,
glint of sunlight from behind the clouds,
momentary magic,
trudging home,
hot tea ~
the story of a winter's afternoon.
You certainly have captured the beauty and magic of winter in this image! Sorry it seems endless to you -- but you know it will end, and spring will come.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful winterphoto!
ReplyDeleteThe light was great.

...and the lovely image and story ends at home where our weary spirit lie in content ;-)
ReplyDeleteGorgeus! Endless but endlessly beautiful!
ReplyDelete... and you took that momentary magic with you as you trudged home and here is that gorgeous glint of sunlight that made the story of a winter's afternoon!
ReplyDeleteScintillating...

A beautiful shot Anna, I love the cool blue hue it has got and it's sparkle.
ReplyDeleteThis photo says it all when it comes to those perfect, crisp, snowy days of winter. Unfortunately it's very rare to get that here - we usually just have grey days and drizzle - but your photo brings back the feeling of those occasional times when we do.
ReplyDeleteAnna, the color and light in this photograph is so very beautiful. I can actually feel the cold and stillness, just looking at it. You surely captured this at the perfect time!
ReplyDeleteThank you so much for sharing with us today at The Creative Exchange.
Have a wonderful day!

That is such a cool shot! The winters here certainly do feel endless, and just when you get a little hope that spring is coming, a snowstorm hits or below zero temps arrive once again. However, I know warmer weather is not too far away and am anxiously waiting!
ReplyDeleteA sheet of snow that looks like it is dusted in gold and silver dust makes up for the cold and the wet feet big time, I think!
ReplyDeleteSheer beauty..
ReplyDeleteOh, Anna! This is magical! :)
ReplyDeleteYou really captured the essence of a cozy winter's afternoon! Even if I am Italian, I love snow! :) We used to get plenty when I was little. What I really cannot stand is the typical dull and rainy British winter. But I should not complain today, even if we are having a snow-showers right now, yesterday the sun was out and hubby and I saw the first spring signs! Yay!
Have a lovely Monday!
Beautiful and silent. This seems to be endless winter. We had 20 cm more snow yesterday.
ReplyDeleteGorgeous visual and words. Love it!
ReplyDeleteIt is magical!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful and sparkly!
ReplyDeleteThe whole image is beautiful - I'm particularly drawn to the glistening you've captured on the right.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful golden light!
ReplyDeleteWonerful photo. I could "feel" it.
ReplyDeleteWonderful shot of your endless winter. I have to say that winter in my neck of the woods has not been that bad but I can appreciate that others might feel that way. The light is wonderful in this shot and I like how the snow sparkles.
ReplyDeleteTruly, Anna, this one takes my breath away!

Beautiful words with a stunning photo! I would be thinking of hot tea too out in the cold snow.
ReplyDeleteFantastic low angle perspective and the light is magnificent!
ReplyDeleteYour vocabulary choices tell me that you've had enough :-)
ReplyDeleteStill, the results of your winter photography must make it all worthwhile.
simply beautiful!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful photo.
ReplyDeleteRegards and best wishes
so beautifully done anna. i can feel the cold, and the crunch of the snow and ice beneath my feet.
ReplyDeleteFabulous.
ReplyDeleteAnd we are in some sort of non winter year, but that's okay too:)
We've had no real winter here in New York this year. So I really love seeing images like this. Beautiful!
ReplyDeleteWhereas you're having endless winter..we're having no winter at all. Love your glistening..gleaming image. Nice!
ReplyDeleteMy winter photography portfolio is bare of snow pictures this year; I would so love to have some of this beautiful sparkle in my yard. Alas, the daffodils, crocus and snow iris are 2" tall and have buds.
ReplyDeleteYou almost make me want to see some sparkling snow!
