Beads, Bling, and Bokeh

Today, I'm linking into The Photo-Heart Connection with my favorite photo from last month.
Here's the story ~
In May, I will be teaching a textile workshop at Asilomar in CA (more about that later in this post).
So, I took a number of project photos for the students -  the f/8 kind with every bead,
painted foil shape, and stitch in sharp focus (not pictured).
Then, I made some photos using a wide aperture... just for fun, just for me.
In these images form seductively slips into an abstract reality;
 with color, bling, and bokeh dominating.
The first capture in this set is my favorite.

But, quite frankly, given the dreary, colorless landscape outside my door,
I think that I'd like to crawl into any one of these photos...
set up camp, and soak up all the luscious color!!!

  3. Hi Anna
    How is life in the Great Northwoods? Our Spring "down here" has slowed, and I'm happy about that as it was unfolding rapidly and I wasn't able to take it all in at my usual pace. I'm drooling over these shots - especially the first in the series. The workshop sounds like a whole lot of fun. I hope you have the time of your life. take good care now. happy week to you.

  11. Gorgeous colours and shapes, Anna! Imagine waking up and finding yourself in such a magical environment of colours and lighting!
    I like the reflection in part of the jewellery and the rounded shape! I love the second shot all in gold with hints of turquoise. The embroidery in that third image has such a lovely flowing shape and I love the contrasting colours of gold and turquoise. The last image is a sheer delight to feast my eyes on.
    This series was worth waiting for!
    Have a colourful and inspiring day!

  12. Gorgeous color for me to visit on a dreary grey day here in Oregon! I love how you took the photographs you were supposed to take, and then took the ones for you - that's perfect. I want to fall inside them and revel in the color. Good luck with the workshop! It's nice to have you in the Photo-Heart Connection.
