Endless Winter

Late afternoon light,
shoreline tree shadows dancing out across the lake,
cold temps,
nasty windchill,
frozen footprints,
glint of sunlight from behind the clouds,
momentary magic,
trudging home,
hot tea ~
the story of a winter's afternoon.

  1. You certainly have captured the beauty and magic of winter in this image! Sorry it seems endless to you -- but you know it will end, and spring will come.

  7. This photo says it all when it comes to those perfect, crisp, snowy days of winter. Unfortunately it's very rare to get that here - we usually just have grey days and drizzle - but your photo brings back the feeling of those occasional times when we do.

  8. Anna, the color and light in this photograph is so very beautiful. I can actually feel the cold and stillness, just looking at it. You surely captured this at the perfect time!

Thank you so much for sharing with us today at The Creative Exchange.

    Have a wonderful day!

  9. That is such a cool shot! The winters here certainly do feel endless, and just when you get a little hope that spring is coming, a snowstorm hits or below zero temps arrive once again. However, I know warmer weather is not too far away and am anxiously waiting!

  10. A sheet of snow that looks like it is dusted in gold and silver dust makes up for the cold and the wet feet big time, I think!

  11. Oh, Anna! This is magical! :)
You really captured the essence of a cozy winter's afternoon! Even if I am Italian, I love snow! :) We used to get plenty when I was little. What I really cannot stand is the typical dull and rainy British winter. But I should not complain today, even if we are having a snow-showers right now, yesterday the sun was out and hubby and I saw the first spring signs! Yay!
    Have a lovely Monday!

  17. Wonderful shot of your endless winter. I have to say that winter in my neck of the woods has not been that bad but I can appreciate that others might feel that way. The light is wonderful in this shot and I like how the snow sparkles.

  26. My winter photography portfolio is bare of snow pictures this year; I would so love to have some of this beautiful sparkle in my yard. Alas, the daffodils, crocus and snow iris are 2" tall and have buds.
