Through the Lensbaby Blog Circle: March

This month for our Lensbaby blog circle, 

I made images of Matsumoto Asters to share.

These asters are native to Eastern Asia.

They are categorized under the genus Callistephus,

 which comes from the Greek word meaning "beautiful crown".

I'm partial to the luscious lavender/purple hues that I found at my local florist but,

these asters come in a variety of colors.

A lot of changes going on at our house of late...

we moved :),
 we've done some traveling,
visited with family - a lot,

met new people and seen new sights.

It's been a wonderful, busy, and kinda crazy time!

 this month with a whole lot of blue loveliness.

Lensbaby Love Blog Circle: April

On a recent vacation, I spent some time working on a personal

 photography project titled, Sacred Spaces.

I made images with the Lensbaby Sweet 35 in a chapel, meditation room, and garden.

Today, I'd like to share with you glimpses of Saint Marys Chapel.

It is a grand space - the quality of light is amazing and the peace is palpable.

I also experimented with ICM - Intentional Camera Movement,

as I'll be contributing an article on this topic to CM's Notebook in the coming months.

Finally, the day ended with beautiful warm light and shadow play.

It certainly was a sweet way to spend a day!

Through the Lensbaby Blog Circle: March

I enjoy working within the format of personal projects.

I have a number of ongoing personal photography projects in the works.

I find that they keep me inspired and moving towards a goal.

One of the personal projects that I'm currently working on is a rainbow 

color spectrum of macro floral images.

Newton's seven step spectrum is a commonly cited sequence

which I'm using as a guide but plan to add many more transitional 

color steps in between the core seven.

I've read that the human eye can distinguish

 about 100 colors within this spectrum.

In these photos, I've used my Lensbaby to capture

 the beauty and color of a Gerbera Daisy.

Shall I tell you that the temperature was frigid,

the wind pelted stinging snow crystals unrelentingly at a rakish angle,

plus my parka and a ton of winter clothes made me look fat?

No, forget I mentioned any of that.....

instead just imagine a winter day upon a hill filled with snowy wonder

and a touch of Lensbaby magic,
